Company Summary:

Viaav is a custom integration company specializing in the design, installation, calibration and service of audio/visual systems for residential, corporate, and government customers. Viaav’s mission is to efficiently deliver systems that are easy to use and provide an experience that is unmatched by our competition.

Viaav is located in Hagerstown, Maryland and services surrounding areas of Maryland, DC, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

Viaav is a member of the Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) and employs CEDIA certified installers.

 

Management:

President, David Fields

Prior to starting Viaav, David was the Vice President of Technical Operations for Americom Government Services and was responsible for procuring, designing and managing global communication systems for the State Department, Army, & NOAA to name a few.

Mr. Fields served as the Senior Director for Verestar Government Services (VGS), where he maintained overall responsibility for the government business. Under Mr. Fields, VGS grew to represent nearly 20% of total Verestar annual revenue.

Mr. Fields has more than 20 years of electrical systems design and integration experience, including eight years at GTE Government Systems Corp., and three years at Satellite Communications Systems, Inc. He founded and served as President of Integrated Systems Design (ISD), which Verestar purchased in 2001. Mr. Fields holds a BS degree in Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.

Director of Engineering, Matthew Kipe

Mr. Kipe is responsible for designing and documenting residential & commercial electronic systems. Matt also manages the install, calibration and programming of audio, video, lighting and control systems.

Before working with Viaav, Mr. Kipe was the lead software engineer for Americom Government Services where he developed the monitor and control system for AGS’s satellite communications equipment. During his time at Verestar, Matt was responsible for developing and documenting their satellite antenna managment software, which also included the development of multi-beam capability and GUI tools to administer a collection satellite and coverage data.

Mr. Kipe has an extensive background in developing web applications and working in a plethora of programming languages including Visual Basic, Visual Basic.NET, C#.NET, XML, Microsoft SQL Server, Postscript, VBScript, Active Server Pages, ASP.NET, PERL, & HTML.

Director of Sales and Marketing, Timothy Jones

Mr. Jones leads our sales and marketing team to provide clients with the most effective and efficient process for choosing systems that best fit their needs. Mr. Jones also designs easy to use interfaces for our AMX touch panels.

From 1999 to 2006, Timothy was the owner of True Image Media, Inc. – a graphic design company that specialized in Corporate Identity. The extent of design services included Web/Interface, Exhibit/Display, Logo, Brochure, Advertising, Package, 3D Modeling & Animation. True Image Media’s clients ranged from The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, JBL, and SES Americom, to name a few.

Mr. Jones also held positions as Art Director for Atlantic Skyline and a Designer for GS Images both of which are Trade Show & Exhibit Manufacturers.

Mr. Jones holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Ohio University.

Project Manager, Ed Storey

Mr. Story manages each project to ensure a streamlined completion of tasks and successful results through strict quality control.

Over forty years of management experience that includes a great variety of manifestations. This includes managing of flight crews, a Communications Department on an aircraft carrier, electronics programs for the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, and domestic and international communications programs and projects for commercial use and for use by the US Navy. These communications programs and projects included the project's inception, approval, budgeting, integration, implementation, and operation of combined satellite, microwave and terrestrial telecommunications systems.

Mr. Story holds a BA in International Relations from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School and a Masters in Management/Production from Troy State University
